Swine Flu: Confused?
Swine flu has basically rocked the medical world as of late, and with all of the developments and statements, there are still many people who are confused as to how everything will be handled. Unfortunately, the federal government hasn’t really said how the shots will be distributed, or even exactly when the new shots will be available. This has created a bit of a panic, especially when people are told that the H1NI virus is a pandemic. Fortunately, there has been a wealth of information that has been available for the concerned citizen, although a great deal of only proved to be counterproductive.
When may they be available?
Although there may be a few conflicting claims, it is widely accepted that the swine flu shots will be available for residents in the month of October. In many respects, this is sooner than many people expected. Although, this is not to say that everyone will be able to receive the vaccine at that particular time, as there will be obvious delays. The amount of time depends on the region, and the particular plan the area has for distributing the H1N1 vaccines.
Recent Developments
With the swine flu debate, there are also newer developments that have the medical community seeking to refute claims made be scientists from Canada. In a report, scientists from three large biotechnology hubs stated that people who received swine flu shots last year are about twice as likely to contracting H1N1 this year. It is noteworthy to state that this claim has not been supported by the Untied States or the UK.
Swine flu has caused a great deal of illness with many citizens around the world, and is responsible for thousands of deaths. Although, the H1N1 vaccine is very treatable, given that the person has access to the vaccines.
